Her narrative spans a day in the life of the protagonist Rosemary Fell and she uses the stream of consciousness technique to presents the sohrt of her protagonist. The attendant put the lilac out of sight as though this was only too true. He requires explanations from his wife, learning that the girl is as Rosemary says a real pick up that Rosemary wanted to be nice to her. And then he uses his heavy artillery calls miss Smith so astonishingly pretty.

Our notes cover A Cup of Tea summary, themes, characters, and analysis. She becomes insecure of her position and decides to send her away. The opening passage in Katherine Mansfield's short story "A Cup of Tea " introduces the protagonist in a manner that will serve to underscore the importance of irony to the tale. Rosemary gave her tea, and bread and butter. Rosemary leaves the library and enters the study room from where she picks up some cash.
