The poetry coming out right now is a different breed of poetry. Their work is complex and nuanced and, sometimes, labyrinthine. We need something more accessible. Something shorter, punchier. Something that maybe has tiny illustrations along with the words. 🕵️‍♂️

Poetry can be an acquired taste for some people, a type of love-hate relationship. I was always the odd one who loved poetry and prided myself on understanding the deeper meanings some of the authors were trying to incorporate. As time went on, poetry took the back burner to my life. When I had spare time to explore the newest publications in literature, I usually stuck to novels. 🤸‍♂️
