The premise of the book is rather straightforward. This Year Was a Real Treat. Sweet summer childhood wrapped in a book -- perhaps limited in relevance for those in suburban America, but the cast is diverse and many kids will identify with the school-free treats of summer. Welcome back.

    Kathy Ishizukait seemed like a missed opportunity to not add more diversity into the mix, Teens Tweens. While one or two illustrations featured non-white characters. This cute book perfectly portrays all of the joys summmer a childhood summer.
