What are the best catholic fiction?

This book was published in Thus, a girl who guards her heart from romantic relationships. If a book can achieve such an end - then read it. A Passion Most Pure is a novel about Faith, all others should be thought of as a means to fictipn end of achieving growth as humans?

This book has won many international awards. William F. Morley Callaghan, More Joy in Heaven. I think i must agree, above all with the Brothers Karamazov as being catholiv near the top but above the Divine Comedy.

Whether such a book would be worth reading when that time could be spent reading one of the below has, for me, a self-evident answer. Not all the authors below are Catholic, strictly speaking, but more importantly these novels listed have explicitly Catholic themes and perspectives. Perhaps I will attempt a list of Catholic novels with implicit Catholic themes and perspectives…. That a great novel can explore religious themes directly is a tribute to the artistry of the writer since such explicitness usually leads to preaching and is, thus, deadly to writing of any kind. Any good list should be controversial by including books some will find questionable, even ridiculous, but I am prepared to defend my choices if a reader would like to question them.

As a bibliophile and as a Catholic , I have spent my life searching for the best Catholic fiction. Not books that are necessarily explicit in their Catholicism, but good books. This includes his friendship with the Flytes, a family of wealthy English Catholics who live in a mansion called Brideshead Castle. Brideshead movingly shows the ways in which grace can affect different people and the many ways in which God can draw souls, even those undeserving, to Himself. The novel is gorgeously written, the story haunting, and a book that has left me better for having read it. Is a list about Catholic Fiction even complete without Flannery?

Blue teaches us that we act in mercy out of love of God which is translated into love of neighbor! Sorry, I missed seeing Cypresses.
