    These ones do not face any kind of specific editing, I'll chime in that certain long nonfiction books might be better as abridged. How weird that it happened to you right after you said it never had. Higher cost of audiobooks leads to the higher prices.     The difference is the length of the book. An abridged audiobook is a shortened version of the book. You'll get the main idea of the book just not all the smaller.
