Mina fled Afghanistan with her mother via a refugee camp, a leaky boat and a detention centre. Michaels parents have founded a new political party called Aussie Values. They want to stop the boats and Mina wants to stop the hate. Michael is a calm guy that likes anything digital, his parents run protests and rallies in support of their Australian Anti-Immigrant group. Then, Mina, a Muslim refugee from Afghanistan arrives. Mina is very smart and her parents have arrived to Australia with dreams of building a successful Afghan restaurant. This book is one of my favourite books because it shows both perspectives of Michael and Mina.
