I agree with Sandfordross. For both Amelia Choquet and Armand Gamache, the time has come for a great reckoning. The author's emphasis on quality writing and character development necessitates more setup on the front end of the narrative.

    About this book. In addition, questions about the map spring up like weeds. So when Reine-Marie Gamache finds a map to Three Pines among the detritus excavated from the walls of the bistro when it was redecorated, the reason for Three Pines not showing up on any maps is revealed. Will I need to read the Armand Gamache novels before this.
