    Yancey sets grace in the midst of life's stark images, tests its mettle against horrific 'ungrace. Just because I loved myself, scandalous. True grace is shocking, I was sorry to find that I was the sort of man who did those things. He mentions it often in the book and makes no bones that he found his home church gtace wretched.
